City Coffeehouse
Mainly a Coffee shop placeAbout City Coffeehouse:
"They serve ice cream, tiramisu, Italian/french sodas, bagels, etc."
"Great drinks, yummy snacks, great music, chilled atmosphere!!"
"Ordered an iced latte and a chai tea latte: they were great."
The Downriver Plein Air Squadron met here for coffee to discuss upcoming events. What a charming atmosphere, great service, and delicious coffee. I love when dark roast is actually strong enough to merit the name. Thank you for accommodating our group!!
Stopped on a road trip to get some coffee to go with some baked goodies we already had. We ended up getting a bagel as well for good measure. Asiago bagel with cream cheese was very good. The medium roast coffee was good, but without some of the finer notes that make a good coffee great. Service was courteous, prices are competitive, and the atmosphere is inviting inside and outdoors. Parking was easy right in front of the building at late morning.
I travel all over the country and love to drink coffee sourced from different regions of the world. From the Ethiopian yirgacheffe, to the Mexican Chiapas, Jamaican Blue Mountain to honey processed coffee or coffee proceeded on wood. And I can tell a great taste from bad one. I ordered a cup of coffee from their list sourced from different places in the world and the coffee doesn’t taste good. I test the value of the coffee roughly by price. If your bags are less than 18$ for a single origin coffee from Ethiopia something is off. High grade coffee costs money and you pay more for the taste. This place has potential if they either roast their own bean or begin sourcing their beans from a higher quality supplier. Jamaican Blue Mountain coffee for example costs roughly 44$ for an 8oz bag! If you’re seeking a pound of this for 25$ something is off about the quality of this bean!!!
The atmosphere is great here most of the time…nice place to study or do work. The service is good most of the time, there is a bit of a language barrier bw English speaking customers and the staff, however it is manageable and they are polite which is a positive. Bathrooms are clean. I’d like to see more food options, maybe a hot sandwich but I do enjoy their caprese sandwich…the only thing that bothers me if the employees conversation at times, it’s really tacky that they are talking so loudly about their personal life but that they also continuously drop the f-word multiple times for all to hear. It’s unprofessional and this type of language should not be used while you’re working…
We were in Michigan for a few days and tried a few coffee/juice places. This was by far the best. The iced Carmel macchiato and strawberry lemonade were so good! Cheese danish was also great. Amazing atmosphere and great staff!!
What a NiCE & COZY place! 😍 I just had a machiatto ☕️ meeting friends here for the first time, & am quite impressed with the service & atmosphere. I told my kids about the ice cream offering 🍨, & they cant wait for me to bring them here. You'll be seeing us soon! 😄
Desserts were tasteless and specialty coffee was way too sugary. However the atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming.
A weekly (almost daily) go-to for boba and the city fizzes! They have a seasonal rotating menu that has some really good tea options! Brown sugar milk tea with tapioca boba, the Hawaiian fizz, vanilla & lavender latte, and a chai with caramel are my favorites!! You’ll always see the same young ladies working there and they’re so nice. This place gets packed by students, so it may become difficult to find a place to sit but it’s a lovely spot!
